Alocasia Sarawakensis (Yucatan Princess) 6"
Scientific name: Alocasia sarawakensis
This beautiful Alocasia variety makes a statement with broad, glossy, wavy leaves. The foliage is dark green, almost black, contrasting with the maroon stems and undersides. Like all Alocasia, the Yucatan Princess requires a good deal of humidity, which can be provided by a humidifier, pebble tray, misting, and/or by grouping plants together. A notably finicky tropical family, once you find the sweet spot of light, humidity, warmth, and watering, Alocasia prove themselves to be aggressive growers, going dormant in cooler months.
Light: Medium to bright indirect light. Too much light and the leaves will begin to get burn spots.
Water: Keep evenly moist, but not soggy. Water when top 2-3" of soil begin to dry, preferably with drainage.
