Tradescantia Sillamontana (Cobweb Inch Plant/Wandering Dude)

$8.95

Botanical Name: Tradescantia sillamontana

While Tradescantia are normally known as a hanging plants, this variety has a more upright habit. It is called the Inch Plant, among other names, because it is fast-growing and easy to care for. Its long, fleshy stems are densely covered with opposing leaves that are about 2 in (5 cm) long. The Sillamontana variety in particular is remarkable for its fuzzy leaves, resembling cobwebs.

Light: Bright, indirect light. Long spaces between leaves are caused by too little light. Pinch off leggy stems and move your plant to a brighter spot. Be careful of exposure to full, direct sunlight because the leaves may burn.

Water: Keep soil evenly moist in the growing season, slightly drier in winter. Stems that look wilted may be a sign of root rot. Cut off any withered stems and allow potting mix to dry out a bit between waterings. It likes a well-draining potting mix.
